N-Hance Slurry Microbe Protector

N-Hance is a ready to use product to improve nutrient value of slurry, it allows anaerobic fermentation to take place instead of rotting. This fermentation results in improved quality manure for both soil and crops. It is used in conjunction with Actiferm microbial additive. N-Hance was developed to counteract the effects salts in slurry have on growth of microbes.

Trials carried out by Kingshay in 2011 found that the total Nitrogen retained in the slurry treated with N-Hance and Actiferm remained relatively constant through the 12 week trial, whilst the untreated slurry lost 12% of its total N by the end of the trial.
This ammonium nitrogen and organic nitrogen are in a readily available plant nitrogen form.

Slurry left to rot untreated looses valuable carbon content as CO2 as well as giving off harmful greenhouse gases such as methane and nitrous oxide. N-Hance and Actiferm used together will lower these harmful emissions and is more friendly to your earthworms when spread.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Improved nitrogen retention
  • Reduced smell
  • Reduced crusting
  • Reduced labour and cost of mixing time
  • More homogenous slurry makes for easier pumping and more even spreading
  • Improves soil’s organic matter and soil condition
  • Improved microbial activity within the soil enabling plants to uptake nutrients

Application / How to use:

Cattle:

  • Start Up Dose.
  • Dilute 2 litres of N-Hance in at least 10 litres of lukewarm water for each 100m3 of slurry and apply through the slats or reception pit or spread over the lagoon.
  • One week later apply 20L Actiferm for each 100m3 of slurry.
  • If starting with an empty pit add 20 litres of Actiferm per 50 livestock units (LSU).

Maintenance Dosage:

  • Add 1 litre of N-Hance in 10 litres of lukewarm water to the slurry system each week for every 50 LSU.
  • Every 3 months apply 20 litres of Actiferm for every 50 LSU.

Pigs: Sows.

  • Apply 1 litre of N-Hance diluted in 10 litres of lukewarm water, add to slurry for each 25m3 of slurry produced in one week. Then add 20 litres of Actiferm per 50 LSU.
  • Repeat the treatment between each batch.
  • Pigs: Weaners and Growers.
  • Apply 10mls of N-Hance per pig, diluted in lukewarm water, pour over the slats. Then add 1 litre of Actiferm per m3 of slurry that will be produced during that growing period.
  • Repeat the treatment between each batch.

Product Information:

  • N-Hance available in 5 litre drums. Shake well before use; opened containers should be kept well-sealed and used up within one month. Store in frost-free, cool, dark place.
  • Actiferm is available in 20, 200 and 1000 litre containers. Opened containers should be kept well-sealed and used up within one month.
  • Also available in 250 litre stay fresh bag-in-box.
  • Store in a frost free, cool dark place. Do not allow freezing.
